What is Collage?

Collage can be created for the wall, or can cover boxes, furniture, cars, or any flat surface.

The word collage comes from the French word “Colle” which means” to glue”. Ephemera ranging from photos, newsprint, sheet music, 3-d objects that are normally not associated with one another are assembled together. The artists below, especially Joseph Cornell, are widely known for their collage works, early to mid 20th c. The others below are various artists whose identities are unknown.
